"In my practice, I've seen it again and again — women going through menopause who feel unseen and misunderstood. But when they connect with others on the same journey, something shifts. That's why Back to You™ is a group program: because this journey is better walked together."

Frequently asked questions
Are there different types of menopause?
Yes — menopause can happen in a few different ways, depending on what's causing it.
- Menopause — periods stopped for 12 consecutive months; natural end of reproductive years (typically ages 45–55) as ovaries reduce estrogen and progesterone
- Perimenopause — the transition phase before menopause; irregular cycles, heavier/lighter bleeding, hot flashes
- Surgical menopause — caused by ovary removal or damage (e.g. hysterectomy); menopause begins immediately, sometimes at a younger age, often with more abrupt/intense symptoms
What symptoms are common in perimenopause and postmenopause?
Vasomotor symptoms — hot flashes, night sweats, flushing episodes
Sleep disturbance & fatigue
Brain fog / trouble concentrating
Cycle changes (perimenopause) — irregular, heavier, or lighter periods
Genitourinary symptoms — vaginal dryness, pain with sex, recurrent UTIs, urgency/leakage
Skin/hair changes and joint aches
Bone loss — increased osteopenia/osteoporosis risk
Why treat menopause and perimenopause symptoms?
Emotional balance & mental clarity — reduces anxiety/irritability, improves focus
Better sleep & energy — reduces hot flashes/night sweats that disrupt rest
Heart health — starting treatment within ~10 years of your last period may support cardiovascular health
Bone strength — helps offset estrogen-related bone loss, reducing fracture risk
Comfort & intimacy — relieves dryness and discomfort, supporting confidence and closeness
What treatment options are available?
Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT) — most effective for hot flashes/night sweats; also helps bone loss and vaginal comfort; individualized type, dose, and form (patch, gel, pill)
Non-hormonal medications — for those who prefer not to use hormones or aren't candidates for MHT
GSM treatments — vaginal moisturizers, lubricants, low-dose vaginal estrogen for dryness/bladder symptoms
Behavioral & supportive therapies — CBT, mindfulness, clinical hypnosis
Lifestyle & self-care — exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress management
Is this safe for everyone, and how is my plan personalized?
Your safety always comes first — but not every treatment is right for everyone. Certain health conditions require extra care or alternative options, and every plan is built around your individual history and goals.
Conditions that require extra care or alternative treatment:
- History of breast cancer or hormone-sensitive cancers
- Blood clots or stroke
- Heart disease or liver disease
- Uncontrolled high blood pressure
How your plan is personalized:
- Full medical history reviewed before starting any treatment, especially hormone therapy
- Ongoing monitoring to keep your plan safe and effective
- Plans built around your individual health needs, preferences, and goals
